Design-Bid-Build Process

For our projects, we use a design-bid-build process. By being involved in all three phases, we can ensure that systems are designed according to our high standards. In some cases, we become involved when a design is already in place, but we always offer the owner the option to have us take over the process from start to finish. Below we go into more detail into how design-bid-build typically works. For all of our local jobs, we are responsible for labor and hardware while we collaborate with a consultant for our designs.

.1 Discovery Process:

We always begin our projects with a discovery process. First, we listen to your needs, preferences, and vision for the project. Our goal is always to balance your desires with the realities of the available technology and budget constraints. This is a dedicated time to get to know you and your goals.

.2 System Design:

After gathering the pertinent information, we develop a detailed report. We put our system design team to work to define all aspects of the project for each room or area. Our team makes an extensive set of project drawings are that show graphically where all the hardware and pre-wire drops will be located. In addition, all hardware and labor is defined with exact detail. We meet with you to go over the plans and receive your feedback and approval.

.3 Engineering:

Once you’ve agreed to the overall system design and budget, the process moves on to our engineering team which will create detailed plans before installation begins. All design documents used during the project are presented to the client upon completion.

.4 AV Bid:

A request for proposal (RFP) is distributed to a select group of integrators. Once the bidders have received all the bid documents, there will most likely be a site review meeting led by the project architect. Each integrator submits a sealed bid stating their qualifications, pricing and recommended alternatives to the proposed design. A final selection is made by the architect or owner determined by many factors including: price, experience, references, staffing, facilities and agreement by the integrator to meet project timeline.

.5 Implementation Process:

Once our system designs have been delivered and approved by the client, we can begin the installation process. The first step is laying the foundation when it comes to the necessary wiring for your AV or integrated system. During the implementation process, we also assemble and install all necessary equipment. This process continues until our clients are fully satisfied with the end product. Once we receive final approval, we deliver all engineering documentation.

.6 Service & Support:

At project completion, we present our final documentation that includes all the changes made during the installation process. This way the client knows which devices were installed and their precise location. It’s important to have this documentation along with all programming codes so the system can be serviced and maintained in the future. Our work does not end at installation; we support all manufacturer warranties and offer repairs and updates if needed down the line.
